Battlelore is a game that recreates medieval history with a twist of fantasy to produce an experience like non-other. Humans, Goblins and Dwarves all clash arms in this sweeping struggle. In Battlelore you are a great commander whose wisdom and knowledge of the battlefield is greatly depended upon. But your words aren't the only verses uttered on the battlefield. You also have your War Council to rely upon. Great masters of old wisdom, these Magicians, Warriors, Rogues and the like will provide their valuable services to you. Their Lore is powerful and vindictive, and if used right, could change the course of battle in the blink of an eye. Use these Lore masters to your benefit, and the battlefield will cry in your name.

Also at your disposal you have scores of soldiers of all types awaiting your orders. Ranging from crossbowmen to heavy cavalry, every soldier will heed your call into battle. Even creatures that defy myth will respond to your will. But all the battlefield isn't available for you to direct. Having so many soldiers in your ranks, you can only order so many at a time. As a great commander, you must look at the battlefield in three different sections-left, middle, and right. With these sections laid out in front of you, you must pick and choose from the command cards in front of you to issue your next order. Issuing an order to your left-flank could surmount in a perfect attack, but could leave your right-flank in a dire situation. Deciding the direction to orchestrate your attack is entirely dependent upon your use of command cards and your reliance on the War Council and their Lore.
